Sir Kensington’s Fabanaise

SIR KENSINGTON FABANAISE-Monthly JULY 2017Here’s a unique product from the new wave of organic foods we’re seeing: Sir Kensington’s Fabanaise.

Fabanaise is the first and only vegan mayo made with aquafaba, described as the chickpea’s greatest gift since hummus.

Aquafaba is basically chickpea cooking water, which, surprisingly, has protein goodies ideal for egg replacement!

The aquafaba is blended with vinegar, lemon juice, pure sunflower seed oil and spices and voila: Fabanaise. We did say it’s unique!

We’re featuring Sir Kensington’s Chipotle Fabanaise and Avocado Oil Mayonnaise.

Coca-Cola Marinade

COCA-COLA Marinade Recipe
Coca-Cola’s high acidity makes it ideal for tenderizing meat. Use this flavourful marinade on your choice of beef – flank steak, ribeye, ribs, brisket;. poultry – wings, thighs, breasts; or pork – shoulder, loin, ribs, chops. Whatever cut of meat you choose, and whether you grill, broil, bake or slow cook, expect a juicy, tender result.

Ingredients

2 lbs. flank steak
1 1/2 cups Coca-Cola Classic
4 tablespoons soy sauce
4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons minced onion
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon finely chopped parsley
1 tablespoons McCormick Gourmet Jamaican Jerk Seasoning
3 tablespoons BBQ Sauce
Pinch of ground white pepper, to taste

 

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together all ingredients.
  2. Place the flank steaks in a large, resealable plastic bag. Pour in marinade and turn frequently to coat meat evenly. Refrigerate overnight or at least 12 hours.
  3. Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Remove steaks from marinade (discard remaining marinade) and cook to taste.
