Koyo Organic Ramen

Ramen is a venerable food item that we see every now and again, loved by an army of fiscally challenged foodies and inevitably re-booted and glorified by the whole food industry.

Derived from the noodles of ancient China, Ramen in its present form originated in seventeenth-century Japan and its popularity soared soon after World War II, in part due to an acute rice shortage.

The rest is culinary history, and this month we’re featuring Koyo Reduced-Salt Organic Garlic Pepper, Tofu and Miso, and Asian Vegetable Ramen.

OWYN Protein Drinks

Amongst the innovations from the whole food industry, protein drinks have the lion’s share of the market, owing to their maximal nutritional value, purity, and convenience.

This month, we’re featuring an evocatively named food producer, OWYN (Only What You Need), makers of Vegan Protein Shakes which provide 100% plant-based proteins in a range of very tasty blends. With twenty grams of protein and only five grams of sugar, there’s a refreshingly low sweetness profile.

Try OWYN Vanilla, Chocolate, Cold Brew Coffee and Strawberry Banana Protein Drinks.

Natural Sea Tuna

Found in lunchboxes, at church picnics and pot luck get-togethers island-wide, canned tuna is loved, even by those who aren’t fish-lovers in general.

It’s a far cry from fresh, but we still get a bang from the can, benefitting from the protein and omega 3 fatty acids.

Natural Sea Tuna is sustainably fished in a way that is kinder to the environment, minimizing the lethal interference with untargeted species routinely practiced by the gigantic factory fisheries.

This month, we’re featuring Natural Sea Unsalted Yellowfin Chunk and White Albacore.

Chatfield’s Carob Chips

Some of us remember, early in what we loosely refer to as the Organic or Whole Food Revolution, the advent of carob – a chocolate substitute that, to be kind, got mixed reviews!

The demand for a reasonably satisfying chocolate alternative hasn’t gone away and is being robustly addressed by Chatfield’s, who’ve been “unlocking the secret to pure, clean and wholesome baking and cooking for decades” and have found the combination for a better-tasting, more satisfying carob.

This month, we’re featuring Chatfield’s Carob Chips.

Chatfield’s Carob Chips are terrific in cookies and other baked goods, as a topping or dessert and as an ingredient in aany recipe that sweetens your life, naturally. These chips contain only FIVE simple ingredients and are perfect for those with or without food allergies as they are vegan, kosher and now free from the common eight allergens – Wheat, Dairy, Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Eggs, Soy, Fish, Shellfish.

Field Day Organic Whole Grain Cereal

Most of us acknowledge that there’s something special about organics.

To be sure, organically grown foods are cleaner; devoid of toxic pesticides, genetic modification, antibiotics and growth hormones. And reports that the flavours of these foods are accordingly bolder and more authentic ring loud and clear.

Field Day is a producer of organics who deliver on these promises and add affordability to the mix; good news for us aspirational consumers!

We’re featuring Field Day Certified Organic Whole Grain Raisin Bran and Cinnamon Crunch Cereals.
