Seems we got our Christmas lights cords crossed! Our annual shipment of Quebec Balsam Firs will be arriving the week November 26th, 2012.

Balsam fir is an extremely popular Christmas tree due largely to its distinctive, long lasting fragrance, deep green colour, sturdy branches and symmetrical shape.

Watch our website and Facebook page, and we’ll keep you posted on when they’re unloaded from the container, and ready for sale!

Christmas Tree Care Tips:

  1. To keep your tree fresh and lasting through the holidays, cut one inch off the end of the trunk and immediately place in water. This will improve water uptake.
  2. Place the tree in a stand that can hold at least 1 gallon of water. For the first few days up to week, a tree should take up a large amount of water. Water the tree until water uptake stops.
  3. Do not allow the tree stand to dry out of water. The base of the tree should always be in water to ensure the cut end does not dry out and form a resin barrier that will prevent the tree from absorbing water and lead to the tree drying out, dropping needles and browning. Water with plain tap water. Contrary to what some people believe, trees do not need aspirin, sugar or other additives. In fact, plain tap water keeps them fresher!
  4. Always check Christmas lights and extension cords for any wear and tear that might lead to an electrical fire. Only use UL approved electrical decorations and cords. Using miniature lights produce less heat and reduce the drying effect on the tree or any chance of fire. Better yet, try LED lights! They’re brighter, stay cool to the touch, and use less electricity. Avoid leaving Christmas tree lights on for long periods of time, and unplug from electrical outlet before turning in for bed.
  5. Take down the tree before it dries out. If cared for properly, a tree should last at least five weeks before drying out.
