Cook up some fun during the spookiest time of the year!
Whether you’re going all out in anticipation of a fun kiddie party for the big night, or just reveling in the festivities one day at a time in the weeks leading up to Halloween, the sky’s the limit on creativity and imagination – and especially so when it comes to food and drinks!
Halloween is the perfect time to playfully experiment with food. Imagine monster-eyed meatballs in a sea of wiggly spaghetti and blood red-sauce, fanciful cupcakes laced with spidery webs, friendly meringue ghosts, cheese ball pumpkins, artfully decorated Halloween-themed cookies, eery punches and potions, and… well, you get the idea. You don’t have to spend hours and days in the kitchen preparing tempting Halloween goodies. Take a quick surf around the web, and you’ll find some of the best mom and kid-tested recipes. You’ll also discover most recipes use store-bought, packaged goods with few ingredients! Perfect time-savers for busy moms!
Try to involve your child as much as possible in Halloween party planning. Let them help with theme, decorating, choosing party favours and candy, painting and carving pumpkins, and if old enough, cooking preparation too! Most importantly, have fun and enjoy the season to the fullest. After all, you’re creating childhood memories that will last a lifetime.
Here’s a few Halloween favourites kids enjoy over and over again:
